Methodology

For our thrilling investigation, we began with a curated list of the top Halloween movies from IMDb. Next, we examined the U.S. search volume for these films using Google Keyword Planner to uncover which spooky flicks captivated audiences the most.

We gathered keyword data by using the search query “watch [movie name],” which gave us valuable insights into the search volume and demand for each film.

We identified and analyzed the top 30 movies generating the highest search volume in the U.S. Using Google Trends, we explored their popularity across all 50 states to uncover which Halloween films reign supreme in each locale.

To uncover the spookiest state in America, we examined a selection of 250 top-rated horror films, ranking them by their star ratings. From this list, we focused on the 200 films with the highest scores and investigated their filming locations. By identifying those set in specific U.S. states, we were able to determine which state appears most frequently in these chilling cinematic tales.
